Tread

While vacationing in New Zealand, my family and I visited the Shantytown Heritage Park. We all loved the park for different reasons. My favorite was all the old rusty things and odd objects that were collected. I saw designs in everything from the sawmills to the old newspaper printer to the railway.

Tread is based on the cogs from old machinery, found on the side of the railroad platform. This design was created for an article I wrote for the Modern Quilt Guild about finishing inspiration everywhere. The design was then used as a pattern for their Quilt of the Month Program.
